MY CHOSEN TOPIC 





Introduction to the topic
 
Video gamers and the strong society they form in the last decades are a growing part of the overall culture for a long time. Streaming platforms are evolving and gaining more new users that are using them to create content and build strong group of followers and most of the time to prove that their hobby can be a real side job and enjoyment. 
 
One of the largest streaming platforms is Twitch. It is strongly focusing on video streaming, broadcasting and topics including the game content. The streaming platform is playing a key role in the gaming industry and the spread of popularity of its products. 
 
Part of the psychological process of the game streaming and internet, in general, are the media violence and other crimes in the influence of games and game society that are reflecting on the content.





Game streaming  and its variety of content
 
The game streaming takes a lot of hard work even if it looks unvaluable as a real job. It requires a full set of skills. There are two types of game streamers – single game streamers and variety streaming. In both ways, a strategy including the most important thing, the content, is needed. 
 
Positive and negative side of Single Game streaming 
 
It is easier to build strong audience because of the focusing in one area. 
It is faster as a strategy itself for growing. 
You can promote your image and self by using the game. 
Playing only one game can help you become a professional player or a commentator. 
 
The negative side is, it can cause boredom and the gamer can lose enthusiasm.
The streamer can become too dependent to a game and its content and if there are new trends and games coming, it can lose part of its audience. 
It is difficult to grow a community and audience if you strategically chose to play a popular game. 
 
 
The variety of streamers are focusing on creating fresh content that can gain them more popularity, other streamers rely on their real persona or artistically created one to gain popularity. The power the streamers relying on their persona or created character are influencing the society (their audience) using themselves, but the streamer relying on the game itself are influencing through the game. 





With what the streaming and its content are important for the game society


The groups of different audiences that are forming the gaming society are really important to the streamers and if the streamers are relying on themselves to create entertainment for their group of followers, they are listening and giving the opportunity to the audience to decide what type of content to be showed. 
 
The streaming can create powerful connections and gives opportunities for revenue generation. With live streaming, people can charge its audience for accessing content, including paid product reviews, selling the entire live streams etc. 
 
The game society is curious, people love learning new information and accessing it earlier, that is why streaming is very important tool and can be used for learning, entertainment, informing etc. 


 


WHY SOCIETY IS IMPORTANT FOR THE STREAMERS AND THE CONTENT 

 

The society plays a key role in the life of the streamers because it influences the content, gives popularity and credit, but also it is the responsible for destroying popularity or ‘name’ in internet. 

 

Internet is full of cyber bullying that cannot be stropped and if you are a streamer this can have a personal impact on you that does not involve your content but you. Once the audience start giving negative energy and opinion, the streamer can lose its popularity or gain even more popularity on the negative side.



CONCLUSION

I have chosen the topic ‘The influence of the society in Game Streaming’ because I think streaming is important for the gaming industry and society, and the audience is having a big impact on the content of the live game streaming. In my opinion, the society is the one that drives the streamers, and the streamers are driving the streaming platforms for creating this cycle.

REPORT SELECTION AND JUSTIFICATION 





FINAL REPORT SELECTION AND TOPIC NAME 
 
The final selected title of the report is - ''The effects of audiences on game choices in twitch streaming''. 

The final report selection topic is focused on Twitch streaming, the current state of the gaming society, and how the audience operates with choosing the content of the streamers they are entertained by.

Therefore, the report, also, is going to specifically focus more on variety Twitch streamers and how their audiences are communicating with them, and manipulate the outcome. Meaning what types of tactics the viewers are using to show the streamers what they are expecting to see more of entertaining content. 




JUSTIFICATION 
 
To justify, by the influence of the society, the report focuses on the games culture society and how important is the voice of the people. Why it influences the streamers who are doing single and variety streaming, and manipulate their choice to stick to certain games, or specific choices while playing. 

Potential contribution of the report is improving and clarifying the methods of Twitch to give the opportunity through UI and interaction for people to be able to manipulate their entertainer -the Twitch streamer that is aware of it's audience. 

The report can improve the people's personal insights on streaming and how to use Twitch for creating audience and gain followers with which to connect and communicate. 

As a personal justification, my decision to write the report is because it is important to understand in depth how Twitch is designed so well, as a platform,  for people to be entertainer and entertained, and why the audience is a key element of being a good streamer, create new efficient and exclusive content, and entertain.

1. Research tools 

As a Research tool for searching for other tools of information such as interviews, articles etc., I will use Google Scholar. 







Good collection methods and tools for Academic Research, I will use reference information from Interviews, Questionnaires, other Reports, Website Articles, Research Journals etc. 


2. research questions focusing on the topic 

What is the effect of audiences on game choices? 
How variety streamers operate with their content? 
How Twitch streamers pick games? 
What is the reason the audience want's a certain game to be played? 
What are the streamers to the society? 
How Twitch contributes to the streaming in general? 
How Twitch streamers become famous and gain followers? 
How the audience is showing to the streamer they are happy? 
What influences the society to choose certain games?
